Saltwater Aquarium Maintenance: How To Make It More Easy
No CommentsThe maintenance that I have to perform on my saltwater aquarium sometimes is just unreal. There is a lot of hardware that needs to be cleaned and kept in top working order, water changes need to be performed, water needs to be tested, salt creep needs to be cleaned up and so on. Sound fun? It’s not really. But having an awesome looking aquarium makes it worth it.
After battling with the weekly routines to keep the aquarium in top shape, I’ve figure out a few things that really help to keep things going to smoothly, and the biggest thing for me has been setting up a dedicated area of my abode that is used just for cleaning hardware and working with all the nasty stuff that goes along with cleaning an aquarium. Having a dedicated area makes it easy for me to keep my stuff out of the kitchen or bathroom (where the sinks are, and where I used to dump stuff down the drain, to my wife’s discontent). I set up the area in the basement of my home and I can basically go down there, make a big mess, leave hardware sitting around to dry, and clean up stuff down there without having to worry about interfering with a lot of the other stuff going on in my house. That is the main thing that’s made the maintenance much more easy on my saltwater aquarium. What do you do to make your life more easy?
